Marine Product Engineer – Graduate (Remote)

About the role

Deeprey is creating the next generation of marine chartplotters and navigation systems. We are looking for a recent engineering graduate to own features from concept to delivery, working remotely with a small, fast‑moving UK‑based team.

Key responsibilities

• Research competing marine systems (chartplotters, autopilots, AIS, sonar, routing tools) and analyse them from user and product perspectives.
• Propose, define and document new features, including edge cases and failure modes.
• Collaborate with a UI graphic designer to map user flows and create interaction assets.
• Develop in C++ on Linux, leveraging AI‑assisted tools such as Claude Code to accelerate delivery.
• Test implementations against real‑world constraints (sea conditions, embedded hardware, installer workflows) and iterate until the feature ships.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in engineering, computer science or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of C++ and Linux fundamentals.
• Curiosity about marine electronics, navigation standards and competitor products.
• Product instinct – focus on what users need rather than just completing tickets.
• Comfortable using AI tools as a productivity enhancer.
• Excellent written communication to justify design decisions.
