Legal Officer

About the role

Bank ABC Tunisia is strengthening its Legal Department by hiring a Legal Officer. The role involves supporting loan documentation, managing collaterals, providing legal opinions, and handling litigation and contract matters for the bank.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review loan agreements, amendments, guarantees, releases and related documents.
• Maintain a complete register of signed agreements and collaterals, ensure safe keeping and periodic reporting.
• Provide legal opinions on loan files and guarantees submitted to the Legal Department.
• Analyse account opening files of legal entities and deliver appropriate comments.
• Monitor new laws and regulations and advise the department on their impact.
• Assist in processing seizures, administrative oppositions and public authority requests in compliance with legal procedures.
• Manage litigation files with external counsel and report progress to the Head of Legal.
• Draft correspondence, notes, and review supply and service contracts, ensuring follow‑up of contractual rights and obligations.
• Coordinate with lawyers, bailiffs and experts as required.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in business law or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a legal function or law firm, preferably within the banking sector.
• Fluent in Arabic, French and English.
• Team player, self‑motivated, able to handle controversial issues and tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of corporate law.
• Experience in contracts administration.
• Familiarity with judicial procedures.
