Full-Time Bookseller

About the role

Join a Barnes & Noble bookstore as a Bookseller, where you will be the friendly face that welcomes readers and supports the community. You will help customers discover the right titles, maintain an inviting store environment, and ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions, and provide personalized book recommendations.
• Operate the register efficiently, delivering quick and courteous service.
• Unpack, shelve, and organize deliveries, keeping displays tidy and attractive.
• Maintain merchandising standards for books, gifts, toys, and other product categories.
• Assist the café team when needed and support loss‑prevention procedures.
• Use store technology such as registers, computers, tablets, and the BookMaster inventory system.

Required profile

• Reliable and punctual attendance with flexibility to cover various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive, energetic attitude and willingness to help both customers and teammates.
• Cheerful, customer‑focused approach with a genuine enjoyment of bookselling.
• Ability to learn new skills and adapt to store procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with point‑of‑sale (POS) registers.
• Experience using inventory management tools, specifically BookMaster.
• Basic competency with computers and tablets for store operations.
