FAI Quality Engineer

About the role

The FAI Quality Engineer will support the introduction of new NPI parts from start‑up through serial production, ensuring all required documentation meets the applicable specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform first‑article inspections and prepare approval packages for customers.
• Ensure compliance with AS9102 (FAI), AS13100/AS9145 (APQP/PPAP) and related aerospace standards.
• Lead quality requirements for NPI projects and drive successful PPAP submissions.
• Conduct product inspections throughout development and manage MSA, SPC studies and control plans.
• Review and validate PFMEA, PFD and work instructions.
• Implement CMM programming and create final inspection templates.
• Monitor NPI milestones, report data and recommend process or tooling adjustments.
• Assist in designing fixtures and special tooling for casting, machining and inspection.
• Support customer meetings and communicate requirements internally.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to convey technical information clearly to colleagues and trainees.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD (plus).
• Familiarity with CMM programming (plus).
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques and core quality tools.
• Practical knowledge of AS9102, AS13100, AS9145, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA and PFD.
