Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager oversees all engineering and maintenance operations for a large hospitality facility in Tunis. The role ensures the building, grounds, and physical plant operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards while supporting guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the physical plant, including HVAC‑R, refrigeration, plumbing, water‑treatment, and electrical systems.
• Develop and control budgets, capital‑expenditure projects, and preventive‑maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, fire‑prevention, and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead energy‑conservation initiatives and recommend best‑practice methods for cost‑effective operations.
• Prepare specifications, negotiate, and administer service contracts.
• Coordinate renovation and new‑construction projects, overseeing contractors to meet timelines and budgets.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and grounds to maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with external agencies such as city zoning, fire‑prevention bureaus, and vendors.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with 4 years of engineering/maintenance experience, **or** a 2‑year degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, etc., with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Fluency in French, English, and Tunisian Arabic.
