Engineering Manager – Delivery Organization

About the role

Caelor builds apps that run inside Atlassian's Jira and Confluence, such as an intranet and a service request tool. It is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its delivery organization of about 15 people across product development squads, QA, release management and AI engineering. You will report to the CTO, own how the company ships its Atlassian Marketplace apps and be the go-to person for engineers' growth, feedback and obstacles. This is a full-time management role; you will not write production code daily but will stay close enough to the technical work to understand trade-offs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coach the two squad leads, run 1:1s, performance reviews and development plans, and build a culture of ownership.
• Own hiring and onboarding for delivery, QA and release roles.
• Own delivery: planning, estimation, sprint cadence and releases, with a lightweight process shared across squads, and track cycle time, commitment accuracy and escaped defects.
• Raise quality: manage the QA and Release Manager, move toward automated testing and run blameless post-incident reviews.
• Resolve priority and resource clashes between squads and work with the Tech Lead and R&D on standards, security fixes and bringing prototypes (including AI) to production.

Required profile

• 3+ years managing software engineers (1:1s, reviews, hiring).
• An engineering background strong enough to discuss architecture and technical debt.
• A track record of improving delivery predictability in agile teams, with concrete examples.
• Fluent English; comfortable giving hard feedback and pushing back on unrealistic deadlines.
• Nice to have: Atlassian Marketplace apps (Forge, Connect, Data Center), managing team leads or several teams, moving from manual to automated testing, SaaS experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001 or GDPR.
