CNC Programmer

About the role

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a CNC Programmer to join its global manufacturing team. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, creating and optimizing CNC programs, and supporting the production of complex aircraft engine components.

Key responsibilities

• Review fixturing and support fixture design as needed.
• Evaluate new cutting tools and select appropriate speeds, feeds, and tooling.
• Analyze drawings and design data to determine machining dimensions and configurations.
• Write instruction sheets, cutter lists, and program documentation for 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis milling operations.
• Optimize existing programs and ensure quality control standards are met.
• Maintain production schedules from prototype through full production.
• Provide shop‑floor support throughout the life of the program.
• Participate in process development, including routing instructions, tool selection, and fixture design.
• Collaborate daily with manufacturing, quality, customers, and suppliers to resolve design and process issues.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles in a cell environment.

Required profile

• Two‑year technical degree.
• At least two years of CNC programming experience in the aerospace industry.
• Strong mathematical, measurement, and technical abilities.
• Self‑directed work ethic with solid time‑management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Team player capable of working in cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T).
• G‑code programming.
• CAD modeling experience.
• Programming for 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Knowledge of major aerospace alloys (titanium, stainless steel, nickel, aluminum).
• Understanding of quality control procedures.
