CNC Machine Operator – 1st Shift (Plainville, CT)

About the role

The CNC Machine Operator will work the first shift in our Plainville, CT facility, operating and maintaining CNC equipment to produce high‑precision aerospace components. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up CNC lathes by installing fixtures, tools, and workpieces and loading raw material.
• Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine machining requirements.
• Input, modify, and run CNC programs using G‑code and M‑code.
• Operate machines to produce components within tight tolerances.
• Perform in‑process inspections with calipers, micrometers and other measurement tools.
• Complete quality reports, production logs and required documentation.
• Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning and report any equipment issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO9000 standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in CNC machining, preferably in aerospace.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to work both independently and in a team.

Required skills

• CNC machine operation.
