Application Support Engineer (Java) – Relocation to Portugal

About the role

Aubay Portugal is seeking an Application Support Engineer with strong Java expertise to join its team and support critical systems for large organisations across banking, insurance, telecommunications and energy. The role is based in Portugal and offers flexible work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Java‑based applications.
• Analyze incidents, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure system stability.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge‑base articles.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and service‑level management.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Technical Support, Application Support or Support Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent English (B2 or higher) and French (B2 or higher).
• Customer‑focused mindset with good teamwork and prioritisation skills.
