AI Engineer Intern

About the role

You will join a three‑person intern team building a Sharia‑compliant trading assistant. The project combines technical analysis, machine‑learning predictions, risk management and Islamic finance rules to generate BUY / HOLD / AVOID signals with full explanations. Your main mission is to design the decision engine and its explainable recommendation system.

Key responsibilities

• Design a decision framework that merges market analysis, ML predictions, risk evaluation and Sharia compliance.
• Develop recommendation algorithms that produce investment signals.
• Implement confidence‑scoring mechanisms for each recommendation.
• Build explainable AI features that surface the reasons behind each signal.
• Analyse feature importance and model decision factors.
• Create a rule‑based Sharia compliance engine to assess asset eligibility.
• Filter out non‑compliant assets from the recommendation pool.

Required profile

• Currently studying Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
• Strong Python programming skills; basic exposure to machine learning is a plus.
• Interest in decision‑making systems and model interpretability.
• Intellectual rigour – you must be able to justify every financial recommendation.
• Interest in Islamic finance is welcome but not mandatory.
