Senior AWS Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and operate an Insurance Data Platform on AWS. You will collaborate closely with a Data Platform Architect, customer Product Owners, and the client’s Data Engineers to deliver robust data pipelines, data‑lake architecture, and MLOps infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Insurance Data Platform together with the Data Platform Architect and two customer Product Owners.
• Collaborate with the client’s Data Engineers to implement Data Mesh, data pipelines, and MLOps infrastructure.
• Work with a Proxy Product Owner (NTT) to define and refine agile work items.
• Deliver well‑defined user stories covering data‑engineering pipelines, MLOps components, and occasional platform enhancements.
• Provide consulting on data architecture and software development best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on data‑engineering experience (not merely infrastructure roles).
• Strong background in AWS services for data processing and security.
• Experience delivering production‑grade data pipelines and data‑lake solutions.

Required skills

• AWS Glue, Athena, Step Functions, Lambda
• Python for data transformation (PySpark on Glue, Pandas, ETL scripting)
• Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code
• Data Lake / Lakehouse design (S3 partitioning, schema management)
• AWS networking and security fundamentals (VPC, IAM, KMS)
• MLOps tools (SageMaker, model registries, feature stores) – strong plus
• Data Mesh concepts and domain‑oriented architecture – strong plus
• Snowflake, Databricks, or modern data‑warehouse experience – strong plus
