Senior API Integration Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior API Integration Specialist to design, develop, and document RESTful and SOAP‑based APIs using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower. The role involves implementing robust security protocols, managing deployments across environments, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document REST and SOAP APIs with IBM API Connect and DataPower.
• Implement security standards such as OAuth2, mTLS, JWT, and SSL/TLS.
• Create and customize API policies (XSLT, GatewayScript) for complex transformations and routing.
• Manage API lifecycle, versioning, and governance across multiple environments.
• Integrate API Connect into CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of integration failures using DataPower probes and analytics.
• Support containerized API Connect deployments on OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Monitor API performance, reliability, and security, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in API development, integration, and management.
• Experience in banking, financial services, telecommunications or large‑scale enterprise environments is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams.
