Senior AI Backend Engineer (LLMs & AI Agents)

About the role

Tappz is building AI‑native applications powered by large language models. We are looking for a Senior AI Backend Engineer who will own the design and delivery of backend services that enable intelligent agents and multi‑step AI workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems that leverage LLMs.
• Develop agent workflows and integrate external tools.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector search.
• Handle prompt orchestration, context management, and cost‑effective scaling.
• Optimize performance, latency, and infrastructure costs.
• Ship AI features into production‑ready products.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js, Typescript, Python and Nest.js.
• Deep hands‑on work with large language models and AI APIs.
• Experience building AI agents or multi‑step workflows.
• Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone or Weaviate.
• Proven ability to implement RAG solutions and prompt engineering.
• Track record of deploying production‑grade services on GCP.
