Machining Engineering Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Machining Engineering Leader to drive the development and implementation of cost‑effective manufacturing processes for complex aircraft engine components. Reporting to senior management, you will guide a technical engineering team to ensure that machining processes and tooling meet both internal efficiency goals and stringent customer quality and delivery requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the creation, development and optimisation of machining manufacturing processes that enhance ease of manufacture and profitability.
• Review, approve and continuously improve machining processes and tooling designs.
• Own technical requirements for new products, coordinating concurrent engineering with customers to enable design changes that improve producibility and reduce cost.
• Drive Kaizen projects, design of experiments and design‑review events to increase process efficiency, lower costs and shorten lead times.
• Research, develop and execute plans to meet cost targets and maximise product profitability.
• Resolve complex technical issues, recommend product or design alterations, and investigate machine‑tool and equipment needs.
• Identify machining‑related problems and initiate corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with customers and cross‑functional teams.
