Human Resources Specialist

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist will support the management and leadership team at the Sheraton Tunis Hotel by handling a wide range of HR tasks. This full‑time position focuses on employee onboarding, transfers, recruitment compliance, and record maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist managers and supervisors with hiring processes, including drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor‑vehicle checks, and social‑security verification.
• Maintain applicant flow logs, orientation records, and transfer request documentation.
• Create and update new‑hire and personnel files in the HR Information System.
• Support orientation of new employees and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
• Process and maintain payroll records as needed.
• Generate HR data reports and answer phone calls, recording messages professionally.
• Serve as HR subject‑matter expert on project teams and train new hires on HR processes and systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant HR experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to lift objects up to 10 lb without assistance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
• Ability to generate and interpret HR data reports.
