Freight Solutions Manager

About the role

The Freight Solutions Manager is the primary point of contact for clients with air‑freight inquiries, responsible for delivering tailored freight solutions that boost revenue while improving operational efficiency. You will work closely with Customer Management Teams (CMTs) to secure competitive rates, manage shipments end‑to‑end, and support sales initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate and nurture strong client relationships to drive loyalty and retention.
• Assist CMTs on sales and shipment matters that require subject‑matter expertise.
• Analyze customers’ business models, routes and volumes to design customized air, land, and sea solutions.
• Participate in joint sales visits to regain lost accounts, close new deals, and cross‑sell services.
• Support CMTs in resolving claims, discrepancies, KPI issues, and operational problems.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of freight shipments, ensuring timely booking, execution, and delivery.
• Negotiate competitive rates with carriers, agents, and offices.
• Provide market intelligence, competition data, and profitability reports to the Station Manager and CMTs.
• Conduct training for CMTs and new hires on freight products and processes.
• Implement and enforce Freight SOPs, ensure accurate CargoWise usage, and maintain milestone integrity.
• Collaborate with regional pricing desks on RFQs, projects, and tenders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in freight logistics and client‑facing sales roles.
• Strong analytical ability to assess business models and shipping volumes.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills with carriers and service providers.
• Capability to lead training sessions and develop high‑potential staff.
• Strategic mindset to meet and exceed freight revenue targets.
