Sushi Specialty Cook

About the role

The Sheraton Tunis Hotel is seeking a dedicated Sushi Specialty Cook to join its culinary team. You will be responsible for preparing high‑quality sushi dishes while maintaining the hotel's standards of safety, hygiene, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, chop, and store ingredients; thaw frozen items safely.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and personal judgment.
• Cook and assemble sushi dishes following recipe, quality, and presentation standards.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness by tasting, smelling, or piercing, and ensure proper portioning and garnish.
• Serve dishes in appropriate receptacles and maintain clean, disinfected workstations, tools, and equipment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures; report any non‑conforming products.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies; report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional uniform and interact courteously with guests and team members.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of related culinary experience, preferably in sushi preparation.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Operation of kitchen equipment and tools.
