Senior Accountant

About the role

Aramex is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Tunisia. This full‑time, on‑site position will be responsible for managing the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and ensuring accurate month‑end and year‑end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including journal entry preparation and review.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes on schedule.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses to support decision‑making.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Support internal and external audits and improve internal control procedures.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is an advantage.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or a multinational environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
