Security Researcher

About the role

The Global Research & Analysis Team (GReAT) at Kaspersky is looking for a Security Researcher to join its worldwide team of experts. You will work on uncovering advanced persistent threats, cyber‑espionage campaigns, ransomware, and other emerging malware trends.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and report on malware trends at local, regional and global levels.
• Research and document ongoing APT and crimeware campaigns.
• Enhance Kaspersky Threat Intelligence products with new findings.
• Present security topics to the community, customers, journalists and media.
• Provide interviews on cybersecurity trends and topics.
• Prototype new detection technologies and contribute to product ideas.
• Help define internal infrastructure requirements and recommended security practices.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for dissecting malicious code.
• Excellent written and spoken English; French is a plus.
• Ability to produce clear technical articles and reports.

Required skills

• Malware analysis of Windows PE.Net, OLE2, JavaScript, VBScript, HTML, PDF, SWF, ELF.
• Intel x86 assembly knowledge.
• Proficiency with IDA or Ghidra for reverse engineering.
• Good knowledge of WinAPI and Windows PE file format.
• Basic understanding of Linux API, kernel and POSIX.
• Programming experience in at least one language: C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Go or Rust.
• Understanding of TCP/IP sockets and network protocols.
