Part-time Sociology Instructor (International Foundation Year)

About the role

Université Tunis Carthage is seeking a qualified Sociology Instructor to join its NCUK International Foundation Year programme. The part‑time role involves delivering engaging sociology lessons to a diverse cohort of international foundation students and supporting their academic development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver student‑centred sociology lessons in line with the NCUK curriculum, covering key concepts, theories and contemporary issues.
• Design and mark formative and summative assessments, provide timely constructive feedback, and prepare students for NCUK examinations.
• Monitor student progress, maintain accurate attendance and performance records, and intervene with additional support where needed.
• Use NCUK Learn and other programme platforms, attend standardisation sessions and contribute to continuous improvement of the sociology provision.

Required profile

• Essential: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Sociology or a related field, proven teaching experience at university or foundation level, strong knowledge of sociological concepts and excellent communication skills.
• Desirable: Experience with NCUK or similar UK‑based qualifications, a Master’s degree, and familiarity with online learning platforms such as Canvas.
