Local Security Associate

About the role

The Local Security Associate supports the Senior Field Security Associate in implementing and coordinating security services for the IOM office in Tunis. The role ensures high‑quality security operations, compliance with UN security standards, and effective collaboration with UN and NGO partners.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security guards, CCTV, walk‑through devices and access‑control systems, reporting any deficiencies.
• Conduct interior patrols, fire‑safety observations and report potential breaches.
• Prepare regular security reports, maintain security files, and update staff access lists.
• Assist in security assessments, evacuation plans, and emergency drills.
• Maintain inventory of security assets and ensure vehicle compliance with SRM standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma with five years of security experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least three years in security, law‑enforcement, military or police contexts.
• Fluency in French and English (oral and written); Arabic knowledge is desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and strong analytical skills.

Required skills

• Operation of CCTV and walk‑through security devices.
• Security equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Inventory tracking and asset management.
• Knowledge of UN/UNDSS security protocols and procedures.
