Frontend Developer – Build Modern & Legacy Interfaces

About the role

Web Hosting Canada is looking for a Frontend Developer to create and maintain the user interfaces that thousands of customers use to manage their websites, domains, and email. You will work in a cross‑functional squad alongside back‑end engineers and designers located in Montréal and Tunis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features on a modern React platform (React 19, Vite, Tailwind, TanStack Query, React Hook Form) that is bilingual, responsive, and accessible.
• Maintain and extend legacy jQuery, Bootstrap, and PHP‑rendered pages, ensuring smooth integration of the React app within them.
• Translate designs into functional code, flagging any issues with data or multilingual support.
• Build reusable UI components using the company’s own component library.
• Consume internal APIs and provide constructive feedback on API design.
• Test and debug across browsers, devices, and both the new and legacy host applications.
• Leverage AI tooling in daily workflow and help improve its usage across the team.

Required profile

• Several years of production‑grade front‑end development experience with strong JavaScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals.
• Deep experience with modern component frameworks, preferably React, but strong Vue, Angular, or Svelte developers are welcome.
• Comfort working with older technologies such as jQuery, direct DOM manipulation, Bootstrap‑based CSS, and PHP‑rendered templates.
• Willingness to read and understand PHP templates to locate rendering points.
