Backup Engineer (Commvault Specialist) – 2‑Year Contract – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backup Engineer with deep expertise in Commvault to join our multinational team on a two‑year contract. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise‑grade backup solutions across hybrid environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain backup infrastructures using Commvault technologies.
• Manage CommServe, Media Agents, Indexing, DDB and configure IntelliSnap, Livesync, and auxiliary copies.
• Lead CommCell migrations, HSX deployments and Command Center operations.
• Ensure reliable backup and recovery for virtualized, cloud and on‑premises workloads.
• Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones.
• Troubleshoot storage, networking, OS and backup layer issues.
• Maintain monitoring and service management processes (ServiceNow, APEX AIOps, CheckMk).
• Develop automation scripts in Python, PowerShell or GitLab CI.
• Follow ITIL‑based incident, change and problem management procedures.

Required profile

• Strong communication and management skills with English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Proven experience working in multinational, remote‑team environments.
• Solid understanding of backup best practices, data retention and aging policies.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with global stakeholders.

• Networking: TCP/IP, routing, firewalls.
• ITIL Foundation (preferred) and REST API integration.
