About the role

The Head of English leads the English department of a school in Tunis, overseeing curriculum development, teacher management and student achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive English curriculum aligned with standards.
• Lead, support and evaluate a team of English teachers, providing professional development.
• Monitor student progress, analyse results and implement improvement strategies.
• Manage departmental resources such as textbooks, materials and technology.
• Implement assessment strategies and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Communicate with parents and stakeholders about progress and initiatives.
• Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership.
• Stay current with educational trends and attend professional development.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in English, Education or related field (Master’s a plus).
• Teaching certification and at least 5 years of teaching experience.
• Strong leadership and management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, hard‑working, resilient, calm and flexible.
