Consultancy to support child protection auxiliary caregivers

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to provide national and international support to auxiliary caregivers working in child protection centers of the Ministry of Social Affairs. The assignment lasts 7.5 months and is home‑based. The consultant will lead research, needs analysis and adult training to strengthen psychosocial and alternative‑care interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for auxiliary caregivers.
• Design and deliver adult training modules on child protection and psychosocial support.
• Facilitate coordination meetings and technical workshops with Ministry staff and partners.
• Produce high‑quality analytical reports and synthesis documents.
• Ensure alignment with UNICEF’s core values and ethical standards.
• Monitor timeline and deliverables.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in research and needs analysis.
• Proven experience in adult training and capacity building.
• Deep knowledge of child protection, especially alternative care.
• Master’s degree in humanities, social sciences or equivalent.
• Recognised senior expert in psychosocial intervention and protection of replacement care.

Required skills

• Strong ability to prepare and facilitate coordination meetings and technical workshops.
• Excellent analytical, synthesis and report‑writing capabilities.
• Fluency in French and Arabic with high‑level written communication.
