Security Researcher – Threat Intelligence & Malware Analysis

About the role

The Global Research & Analysis Team (GReAT) at Kaspersky is looking for a Security Researcher to lead the detection and analysis of advanced persistent threats, malware, and cyber‑crime campaigns worldwide. You will work with a global team of experts to turn complex threat data into actionable intelligence for customers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and understand malware trends at local, regional and global levels.
• Produce detailed reports on ongoing APT and crimeware campaigns.
• Enhance Kaspersky’s Threat Intelligence products and suggest new features.
• Present security findings to the cybersecurity community, customers, journalists and give media interviews.
• Develop prototypes and new technologies to improve detection capabilities.
• Contribute to internal infrastructure requirements, recommended practices and standards.

Required profile

• Advanced written and spoken English and French.
• Strong understanding of the modern threat landscape and threat‑intelligence industry.
• Ability to write technical articles and communicate complex concepts clearly.

Required skills

• Malware analysis of Windows PE.Net, OLE2, JavaScript, VBS, HTML, PDF, SWF, ELF.
• Intel x86 assembly language.
• Proficiency with IDA or Ghidra for reverse engineering.
• Good knowledge of WinAPI and Linux API / kernel / POSIX.
• Expertise in Windows PE file format.
• Programming experience in C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Go or Rust.
• Understanding of TCP/IP sockets and network protocols.
