Project Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

Scatec is looking for a Project Engineer to join its renewable‑energy team in Tunis, Tunisia. You will be responsible for delivering all technical deliverables from project structuring through to hand‑over for photovoltaic installations, ensuring compliance with contracts, grid codes and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve technical supply contracts to guarantee compliance with the PPA, Grid Code and other critical documents.
• Monitor and facilitate contractor detailed‑design reviews, ensuring alignment with Scatec functional requirements, site permits, local codes and industry best practices.
• Validate project programmes, incorporating design timelines, equipment procurement, commissioning and grid‑connection schedules.
• Manage interfaces with contractors, equipment suppliers and utilities, negotiating technical aspects and approvals.
• Assist the Project Technical Manager (PTM) in identifying and mitigating technical risks via an updated risk register.
• Handle design change requests, grid‑interface agreements, and stakeholder approvals during execution.
• Provide early warnings on issues that could affect connection dates or final product quality.
• Contribute to project reporting, commissioning plans and Grid Code compliance testing.

Required profile

• Experience in photovoltaic project engineering, including structuring and execution phases.
• Familiarity with Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and Grid Code requirements.
• Proven ability to manage technical contracts, design reviews and utility interfaces.
• Strong risk‑management and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
