Materials Planner – Trim Operations

About the role

The Materials Planner Trim will translate customer requests into supplier orders, ensuring that material flow supports production schedules while meeting quality, cost and service standards. You will work closely with logistics, planning and quality teams to keep the supply chain running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of trim materials from assigned suppliers according to logistics guidelines.
• Ensure supplier deliveries meet company standards for quality, service and cost, supporting continuous improvement.
• Prepare and distribute weekly supplier releases using the EDI system and related tools.
• Align material supplies with production needs and scheduled deadlines.
• Monitor receipt of materials, report potential issues to the planning department and take corrective actions.
• Analyze stock levels, run simulations and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Collaborate with the factory planning department to implement corrective measures.
• Act as the liaison for the quality control department on rejected material lots and drive corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement agreements and report any anomalies.
• Assist import transportation, track transit operations and optimise costs and lead times.
• Follow hygiene and safety rules in line with company policies.

Required profile

• Engineer degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a material planner or in procurement.
• Strong time and project management abilities.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with SAP or a similar ERP system (preferred).
• Analytical mindset with good problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
