HSSE Inspector

About the role

The HSSE Inspector will ensure a safe, healthy, secure and environmentally responsible construction site for Scatec’s Sidi Bouzid 2 renewable energy project in Tunisia. You will monitor daily activities, verify compliance with HSSE requirements and support the implementation of Scatec’s HSSE Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of the project HSSE Management System, HSSE Plan and Scatec procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with HSSE requirements and safe work practices.
• Monitor PPE use, housekeeping standards, contractor performance and vehicle/equipment safety.
• Verify Permit to Work compliance and ensure work follows approved procedures.
• Support incident and near‑miss investigations and track corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks, promote HSSE awareness and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Monitor high‑risk activities such as work at height, lifting, excavations, hot work and mobile equipment operations.
• Conduct environmental inspections and ensure compliance with legal, project and international HSSE requirements.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of HSSE experience on large construction projects, preferably in the energy sector.
• Fluent Arabic and good written and spoken English.
• Strong communication skills, proactive mindset and ability to work independently.
• Experience working with contractors, subcontractors and multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 management system.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 management system.
